Rehearsing The Night Away…sort of…

Well, it’s a cold Monday evening and I am here at a rehearsal for a production of Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story. It is kind of a crazy story…I haven’t set foot in this theater in about 8 years. I swore I wouldn’t…but here I am. I say I am rehearsing, but this theater double casts everything. So all I am really doing is sitting watching the other cast do their “final dress”. It is sort of a disaster, if I may be completely honest. There will be an audience here tomorrow and at the moment the set isn’t completely painted…there are technical problems every few moments…lights aren’t done…set changes are a mess…the list goes on.

None the less. The show goes on as they say. I have not been in a show in this bad of a shape since an unfortunate production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying in Celebration, FL. It did come together, eventually, so maybe a Devine miracle will occur in the next 24 hours.

In other news, the end of the year approaches and it’s time to total up the travel for 2013 and start planning some stuff for 2014. Anyone have any suggestions?

???????????????????????????????

Ok.  Well not the very beginning.  That would take a long time!  But, seeing as I have to start somewhere, this is as good a place as any.

This blog is the beginning of an idea.  Where it will go, I am not sure.  You see, I have been truly lucky to have always been a part of an ‘airline’ household.  But, wait, I am getting ahead of myself.  Allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Scott.  My full name is Edward Scott Arnold but I usually list things as E. Scott Arnold.  I started doing that in college, like it, stuck with it, so its who I am.  But I have always gone by just ‘Scott’.  I am the oldest of three.  I have two sisters; one who has a family in Georgia and another who is a performer in Florida. Our father worked for a major airline and so we grew up with travel just being a thing we did.  As things worked out, I began a career at another major airline on the very day that my father retired from his job.  So, it’s just in the family.  I love to travel and so this job suits me just fine!  I have been with my company for just shy of 9 years now.  I will soon be 41 years old, I am single, overweight and live with my mother…a real catch!  Seriously, though, I just love to travel.  There is something interesting everywhere after all.

So, I travel as much as I can.  Obviously, I have flight benefits and that is how I can afford to do it.  I am thankful to have grown up with these benefits.  At least on that front, I was very lucky.  A few years back I started keeping a travel journal.  Many times on flights, people would see me writing away and ask about it.  As I explained that it was really just a journal I was keeping to remember those things you forget about travel, people overwhelming thought it was such a great idea. From there I started posting lots of travel photos on my Facebook page.  Then I had my Shutterfly page.

That brings us to the here and now.  I hope to make my site something that links all of this together.  For any of you who enjoy my crazy travel.  From day trips to long adventures, I try to do it all.  I hope that it is interesting.  What I found from my earlier journals is that a story emerged.  I dont know if I want to eventually put out all those old entries or not, but it will be interesting to see if a story emerges here.  So, come along for the ride.
